Design of “Multiple–Turbo–Codes” with Transfer Characteristics of Component Codes

چکیده
For the construction of low rate turbo– codes, the concept of multiple parallel concatenated codes, i.e. the “multiple–turbo–code” has been successfully employed e.g. in [13, 16]. Analysis of this structure has been done via simulations [16] or the analysis of equivalent coding schemes [13]. In this paper we extend the method of EXIT charts [5], that has been applied to multiple–turbo–codes consisting of identical component codes via serial– to–parallel conversion [13], to the analysis of asymmetric structures which employ different component codes. With this method, convergence analysis of the whole class of multiple–turbo–codes and their design

An approach to fault detection and correction in design of systems using of Turbo codes
We present an approach to design of fault tolerant computing systems. In this paper, a technique is employed that enable the combination of several codes, in order to obtain flexibility in the design of error correcting codes. Code combining techniques are very effective, which one of these codes are turbo codes. The Algorithm-based fault tolerance techniques that to detect errors rely on the c...
متن کاملOn the Performance of Low Complexity Multiple Turbo Codes∗
In this paper, we study the convergence properties of low-complexity (2and 4-state) multiple turbo codes on an AWGN channel. An analytical approach to determine the extrinsic information transfer characteristics of 2-state codes is presented. This is then used to compute the convergence thresholds of several rate 1/2, 2-state multiple turbo codes. The convergence thresholds predicted by the ana...
متن کاملConvergence of non-binary iterative decoding
Mutual information transfer characteristics have been recently proposed by ten Brink as a quasi-analytical tool for the performance analysis of iterative decoding of concatenated codes. Given the individual transfer characteristics of the component codes in a concatenated coding system (obtained by simulation), the convergence region and average decoding trajectory of the concatenated system ma...
متن کاملPerformance Analysis and Design of Punctured Turbo Codes
Turbo codes, formed by the parallel concatenation of two recursive systematic convolutional component codes separated by an interleaver, have been proposed for use in a variety of wireless applications, including mobile, satellite and fixed wireless systems. Analysis of their performance requires knowledge of their transfer function, which conveys their distance properties. Using the transfer f...
متن کاملSpace-Time Turbo Codes
Introduction: Recently, there has been a surge of interests in the design of the so called \space{time" codes which take advantage of both the spatial diversity provided by multiple antennas and the temporal diversity available with time{varying fading. The previous proposed space{time codes were mainly based on trellis codes or orthogonal block codes. In those codes, the number of transmitter ...
